Varndean's Best Ever GCSE results
Varndean students were today celebrating their best ever GCSE results:
57% 5A*-C (including English and Maths), up from 50% last year.
Bucking the national trend, girls and boys did equally well, while the boys were the very top performers: Toby Hayward-Butcher 9 A* and 3 A, Lewis Fogden 8 A* and 2 A, James Woolven 6 A* and 6 A. Jo Cutler was the highest achieving girl with 6 A* and 6 A grades.
53 year 9 students gained GCSE French two years early, with 3 getting A*.
