Christmas alive and well at St Matthias Church
It was really great to see so many friends and their children, nearly 400 in fact, at our Children's Church Nativity presentation "The ‘X'mas Factor" on Christmas Eve afternoon. Once again Jayne Hems, a mum and member of our community wrote a new slant on the original story (can't really change that) of the birth of Jesus. Jayne always manages to write something different each year and this year it was based on the popular TV series "The X-Factor" but with a simple yet powerful message for us all, to take the ‘X' out of Xmas and put Christ in! I very much enjoyed leading this simple Service it was great fun, which is how it should be, as we proclaim the gospel message and its relevance in the world today. But, the "Christmas Story" is only the beginning, and of course, we at St Matthias will be telling the rest of it throughout the year. Want to know more? We would love to see you anytime you care to drop by! Our Children's Church meets at 9.45am every Sunday morning during school term time
